Lung cancer
The deadliest cancer in Europe is fought with evidence built around the patients it is least likely to kill. Seven European markets, seven ways the evidence leaves patients out, and the standard that would close the gap.
A monthly report on exclusion debt: the cost of building medical evidence without the people it is about. Each issue takes one disease and asks a single question across the whole evidence chain, from clinical trial design to screening to the datasets that train AI: who is missing, and what does it cost?

Exclusion debt is what accumulates when evidence about a disease is built without the people who have it. It's created at specific moments, the design of a clinical trial, the setting of a screening threshold, the assembly of a dataset, and it can't be undone after the fact. Each issue reads every gap the same way: what evidence exists, what is missing, what it means for patients, and how severe the gap is.
The report is a synthesis of published evidence, and every figure is drawn from the sources it lists. More on exclusion debt
